Learning to Let Go and Let God

One of the hardest things for me to do depending on the situation, is to Let Go and Let God. Prayer is powerful, talking about things helps, when all that is over, the one thing left to do is finally let go and let God work. Now, I have a jam-packed schedule this semester, I have full time classes, I participate in 2 bible studies, run 1 small group, i'm a volunteer Young Life leader, play soccer for an amazing team in a church co-ed league, but above else I am a child of God, striving to have people see how great our God is, and keeping myself in check. The tricky part is sometimes we rely solely on ourselves, compacting God and over taking his responsibilities. This is one thing I keep learning over and over and over again. I am not alone, and sometimes there are things I can't control, I can't handle...and I have to let go and let God. After all, God knows what I need, I do not. He sees the big picture.

My one pastor, Pastor Ellis said this at our last bible study, "The problem is not failing, it is when your failing keeps you from Jesus." Wow. Yeah, that has stuck with me all week. Most importantly I want you to remember this: Prayers never go unanswered. If they are not answered the way you want, they will be answered in the way you need them to be, which will be even better. So remember, it might be hard, but it is definitely worth it, just Let go and Let God!

I know it has been awhile since i've last blogged, and i can chalk it up to busyness, lazyness, or just lack of knowing what to say...but i'm back. Forgiveness (is more than saying sorry...)

Yes, my title is a quote from "Just Friends" -- but it is very much true. Forgiveness is definitely more than saying sorry. It says a lot of things when you are able to forgive. When you forgive someone -- it doesn't mean you agree with them. It means you love them enough to choose to forgive them, rather than hold a grudge and tear down the relationship. When you forgive someone -- it allows you to love them on another level. When you forgive someone -- the burden, stress, and anger is lifted. When you forgive someone -- it doesn't mean you forget what they did or said, it means you will not hold it against them any longer. When you forgive someone -- you are loving as Jesus loved. To me, being a Christ loving, following young lady -- it all goes back to him. He showed me what forgiveness looked like -- and then demonstrated it for me. How Far I've Come, How Far I Have To Go, I Will Rejoice Along The Way

So I've been looking at old posts, and have seen them for what they are: old. Also, different. Different because I have realized, I'm not that girl anymore. I've grown...emotionally and spiritually. The Brandon Heath song "I'm not who I was", comes to mind. I'm not who I was back then. I've been steadily changing every month, every week, and every day. I have one special man to thank for that: Jesus. I praise Him for giving me the strength and whatever else is needed to REJOICE in ANY and ALL things.
