Being Joyous in Jesus

Do you ever have those moments where you are just so filled up with joy, you feel like you are about to burst? Today ( and I am hoping many, many more days to come) was like that for me. Today didn't start out so fabulous, my car was in the shop, so i was stuck at home all day. It was kind of terrible because I have so much prep to do for summer camp with my youth kids, and I am house sitting for someone this week, so my car not starting was not the best. Tonight at bible study, we are going through the book Battling Unbelief ( I highly recommend it) and a two part question in the study was this: Is there a conflict between a passion for the glory of God and a passion for our own joy? My opinion on this matter is we were created by joy, for joy, and that goes hand in hand with Jesus. Therefore, i am truly joyous when i am with him! The second question asks, As Christians is it right to say that we should make it our life's goal to be happy? Again, my opinion is YES! Striving for joy or happiness and just purely that for a goal in life, especially when Jesus is a giver and blesses us, and brings us such joy... YES strive for that!

I know it has been awhile since i've last blogged, and i can chalk it up to busyness, lazyness, or just lack of knowing what to say...but i'm back. Forgiveness (is more than saying sorry...)

Yes, my title is a quote from "Just Friends" -- but it is very much true. Forgiveness is definitely more than saying sorry. It says a lot of things when you are able to forgive. When you forgive someone -- it doesn't mean you agree with them. It means you love them enough to choose to forgive them, rather than hold a grudge and tear down the relationship. When you forgive someone -- it allows you to love them on another level. When you forgive someone -- the burden, stress, and anger is lifted. When you forgive someone -- it doesn't mean you forget what they did or said, it means you will not hold it against them any longer. When you forgive someone -- you are loving as Jesus loved. To me, being a Christ loving, following young lady -- it all goes back to him. He showed me what forgiveness looked like -- and then demonstrated it for me. How Far I've Come, How Far I Have To Go, I Will Rejoice Along The Way

So I've been looking at old posts, and have seen them for what they are: old. Also, different. Different because I have realized, I'm not that girl anymore. I've grown...emotionally and spiritually. The Brandon Heath song "I'm not who I was", comes to mind. I'm not who I was back then. I've been steadily changing every month, every week, and every day. I have one special man to thank for that: Jesus. I praise Him for giving me the strength and whatever else is needed to REJOICE in ANY and ALL things. It may be hard (and trust me, it is A LOT harder than it sounds!) This last year has looked nothing like I thought it would, but for that I am thankful.
