Choices: We all have 'em...

Lately, I've been making a lot of decisions. So naturally, as I'm thinking through all of the choices I've made, and have to make..I decided to blog about what's on my mind. CAUTION: this is merely my opinion. You may agree, disagree, or not care. There is no offense taken.

One thing on my mind as of late is choosing joy. Sounds a bit weird, but stick with me.

I work at a job where sometimes, it's hard to choose joy. So what does choosing joy (for me) look like? I'm lucky enough to work 3 miles from home, so I go home almost every day for lunch, and plug into my source of joy: Jesus. Now, to some people that is strange. But I have had people ask me "Where does your joy come from?" , and it does indeed come from the Lord. For without Him, I wouldn't have the strength, the patience, and the joy that I have.

Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. Psalm 51:12

Every day He gives me the gift of a new day. He provides me with a job to go to each day. He gives me patience throughout the day. He answers my prayers. He does all this for me, simply because I said yes to Him. That one decision has transformed my attitude, my heart, my whole life.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23

How could you not choose someone whose love is steadfast, who is merciful and faithful, and whose joy is everlasting?  STEADFAST and EVERLASTING. Let that sink in.

So today, and every day...every second, minute, and hour of the day, I choose joy. Joy got me to the place I am today, and I couldn't live without it. So my question is, where are you putting your joy...and where is it putting you? Evaluate, and Re-evaluate. Just something to think about folks.

This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Philippians 4:4

meditate. appreciate. choose love, not hate.
