Only God can judge me...and everyone else.
We've all somewhere along the line have heard the phrase "Only God can judge me" (which sometimes is followed by a not so wise decision). As this whole Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner thing has come about...I've thought of this phrase more and more. Don't ya know, there's a little more to it? Not only can God ONLY judge me, but God and God alone is the one who will judge EVERYONE else.
So I'm pretty sure that that means, it is not our job to judge. Hear that people, IT IS NOT OUR JOB. What is our job is to love people, point them to the Gospel, and pray for them.
My thought is: Why are we so quick to judge others, and the way they live their lives? Do we really know these people? These celebrities? Just because they are constantly in the media, and the media provides us with certain information, does not make us friends with them. We KNOW OF them, but we do not actually KNOW them, there is a huge difference.
I think that somewhere along the line, we as Christians, have sometimes missed the mark. We've overstepped into God's territory. Sometimes we need to just take a step back and realize ALL of this is in HIS hands. He always knows what is going on. He is at work, even when we cannot see it. We need to have more faith. Do we think we know what is better for these people? Is our plan better than God's? Heck to the NO!
What I do know is that Jesus hung out with these kind of people (sinners). He loved on them, he built relationships with them. He didn't even judge them, because he knew that wasn't up to him. We all know God doesn't love the sins we commit, but ALL sins are EQUAL in his eyes, or at least that's what I've read in my Bible. So I'm just as much of a sinner as Caitlyn.
What I do know is that we should be on our prayer game. Every day, all throughout the day. Continuing to point ourselves, as well as others to the Gospel.
These two quotes from MLK Jr. also are great words to remember:
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.”
"We must live together as brothers, or perish together as fools".
At the end of the day ladies and gentlemen, it comes down to this: Love God, and love people. Yes, sometimes it really can be that simple.
It's all about love,
